The Supreme Court on Friday refused to interfere with the Election Commission’s (EC)s order banning the release of the movie “PM Narendra Modi” a biopic on PM Modi.
The court said it was not inclined to entertain the application filed by producers of biopic challenging the EC’s order.
“The issue is whether the movie can be exhibited at this time. The EC has taken a decision. We are not inclined to entertain this,” A Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said
The EC had told the court that the movie should be released only after the Lok Sabha elections.
The seven-phased polls which began on April 11 will get over on May 19 and the counting of votes will take place on May 23.
