Pakistan to hold anti-terrorism conference in Islamabad on 23 to 25 May under the banner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), Pakistan’s Foreign Office statement confirms.
Pakistan is hosting its first SCO meeting, since it became the member of the organisation in June 2017.
Pakistan Foreign Office statement confirmed: “The legal experts will discuss terrorist threats facing the region and ways and means to enhance counter terrorism cooperation between SCO member states.”
Along with India and Pakistan, legal experts from member states, including China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan as well as representatives of the SCO-Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (SCO-RATS) will participate in the three-day meet, according to the statement.
“Our country supports the SCO’s efforts towards regional cooperation to fight terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime,” the statement read further.
