One militant has been killed and two soldiers injured in an encounter between Army and militants during a search operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara on Monday.
Indian Army soldiers observed suspicious movement by a group of militants in Safawali Gali, adjacent to Batpora forests in Kupwara.
Alter troops challenged the militants in which one militant is killed so far. “The body of the militant has been spotted and an AK-47 rifle recovered,” said a police official.
The operation is on in the area as the militants and the army forces continue to exchange fire.
