One policeman was martyred and another injured after terrorists attacked a joint party of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The incident took place at Pulwama’s Prichoo area.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “#Terrorists fired upon joint naka party of police and CRPF at Prichoo, #Pulwama. 02 police personnel got injured in the incident, however one of the injured #succumbed to his injuries and attained #martyrdom. Further details shall follow.”
This is the second attack on the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in last two days.
On Wednesday, two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel were martyred in a militant attack on the outskirts of Srinagar.
Motorcycle-borne militants fired upon the BSF jawans at a picket in Pandach area in Ganderbal district, 17 km from Srinagar.
