Prime Minister of Norway Erna Solberg arrived in Delhi early Monday on a three-day state visit to India. She was accompanied by senior officials from her government and a large business delegation.
During the visit, Solberg will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She will also call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.
Prime Minister Solberg will deliver the Inaugural address at the Raisina Dialogue. She will also address India-Norway Business Summit.
“The visit of Prime Minister Solberg will provide an opportunity to review the progress in bilateral cooperation between the two countries and discuss ways to further expand the multifaceted partnership in areas of common interest,” Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
India and Norway enjoy close and multifaceted ties. Economic and technical cooperation are important facets of the bilateral relation.
More than 100 Norwegian companies have invested in India in areas such as ship-building, hydropower, petroleum related services, clean energy and IT services.
Several major Indian companies are also present in Norway. India and Norway have shared interest in sustainable use of ocean resources for growth of the economies.
