Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said that no public gathering will be allowed in the state till June 30, amid rise in COVID-19 cases in the state.
“CM Yogi Adityanath has given strict instructions to the officers that no crowd of any kind can gather by June 30. This decision has been taken with the intention of keeping the coronavirus under control,” Mrityunjay Kumar, Media Advisor to Aditynath tweeted.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in a late-night order allowed reopening of shops registered under the Shops and Establishment Act with some exception. However, shopping malls will continue to remain closed.
PM Modi has already extended the nationwide lockdown till May 3 to curb the spread of COVID-19 across the country.
So far, Uttar Pradesh has reported 1,621 COVID-19 cases with 25 deaths.
