Navjot Sidhu skips cabinet meet; says can’t be taken for granted

The trouble between Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu intensified on Thursday when the latter skipped a meeting called by the chief minister and instead held a press conference at his residence to list his achievements regarding the performance of the party in urban areas in the recently concluded elections.

Sidhu said he could not be taken for granted as he had been a performer his whole life. He claimed that he was being singled out for his performance in the recent polls.

According to the sources, the cabinet meeting was crucial as it was called for discussions on cabinet changes.

It was the second time, Navjot Singh Sidhu was not present in an official meeting chaired by Amarinder Singh. Last month too, Sidhu had stayed away from a meeting of lawmakers, ministers and newly elected MPs.

Navjot Sidhu had accused the Chief Minister of being responsible for the denial of a ticket to his wife Navjot Kaur in recently concluded Lok Sabha Elections.
