Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hit out at the Modi government for “its stand against the farmers tractor rally on Republic Day”.
Rahul in a tweet referred to the deaths of farmers who have died while camping at various border points of Delhi.
“The Modi government is not embarrassed when more than 60 farmers are martyred but is ashamed about the tractor rally,” Rahul tweeted.
More than 60 farmers have lost their lives ever since they began their protest on the Delhi borders.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday put on hold the implementation of the three farm laws till further orders.
The top court has also set up a committee to find a solution to the matter.
The Centre in its affidavit in the Supreme Court underlined that ‘Republic Day parade disruption or obstruction will not only be against the law and order, and public interest but also an embarrassment for the nation’.
Farmers who have been protesting against three farm laws have threatened to intensify their agitation by taking out a tractor rally on Republic day.
