Agra: A shocking murder case has come to light in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, where a woman was arrested for allegedly killing her husband and burying his body beneath the floor of their bathroom. The crime remained hidden for nearly one-and-a-half months before investigators uncovered it with the help of suspicious bank transactions.
According to police, the victim had been reported missing several weeks ago. During the investigation, officers noticed unusual withdrawals and financial activity in his bank account after his disappearance, raising suspicion. The transactions prompted investigators to question family members, eventually leading them to the victim’s wife.
Police said the accused allegedly confessed during interrogation that she had murdered her husband following a domestic dispute. She then buried the body beneath the bathroom floor and had fresh tiles laid over the spot in an attempt to conceal the crime.
Based on the confession, police excavated the bathroom floor and recovered the decomposed body. The remains have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators are also probing whether anyone else assisted the accused in disposing of the body or covering up the murder. Further investigation is underway.
