Mayawati removes party leader for criticizing Rahul Gandhi

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Mayawati on Tuesday removed party vice-president and national coordinator Jai Prakash Singh from his post.

This decision was taken by BSP Chief after a statement passed by Singh on the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi being unfit for the Prime Minister Position due to Sonia Gandhi’s foreign origin.

During the BSP’s coordination committee meeting in Lucknow on Monday, Singh said in his speech that Rahul Gandhi will remain unsuccessful in Indian Politics because he has “foreign blood in his veins”.

“There would have been some hope if Rahul Gandhi had cared to learn something from his father [former PM Rajiv Gandhi]. He has learnt everything from his mother [Sonia Gandhi], who is a foreigner. Foreign blood flows in his body. Because of this, I can say with confidence that he can never succeed in Indian politics,” said by Jai Prakash Singh.

“I came to know about BSP national coordinator Jai Prakash Singh’s speech in which he made personal remarks against leadership of rival parties [Rahul Gandhi]. It is his personal opinion. So he has been removed from his post with immediate effect,” Mayawati said.

“Singh’s speech was against her party’s ideology”, she added.

For the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, BSP is believed to be in talks with the Congress.
