Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar tests positive for COVID-19, admitted to hospital

Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar on Monday tested positive for COVID-19, he is admitted to Breach Candy Hospital hospital in Mumbai.

Informing about his health condition, Ajit Pawar in a tweet said, “My corona test came back positive but I am in good health. As a precautionary measure, I have been admitted to Breach Candy hospital on the advice of the doctor.”

“I request people of the state, leaders of all political parties in the state, including the Nationalist Congress Party office bearers that there is no reason to worry. I am in good health and after a short rest I will be back to work,” Pawar added.

Earlier, former chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis was tested positive for coronavirus.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state by COVID-19 in the country With 1,41,001 total active cases. While 14,60,755 patients have recovered from the disease in the state, 43,264 have died so far.
