Former chief Minister and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Monday filed nomination papers for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat of Jammu and Kashmir.
Farooq, who is seeking re-election from the constituency, was accompanied by his son and NC vice-president Omar Abdullah and other party leaders to the office of Returning Officer, Srinagar, where he filed his nomination papers.
“Today President @JKNC_ Dr. Farooq Abdullah filing his nomination papers for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.,” Omar Abdullah tweeted.
Farooq has the support of the Congress as it has not fielded any candidate from Srinagar.
