Lashkar commander killed in South Kashmir encounter

A Laskar-i-Toiba commander was killed in an encounter with security forces in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district today.

He has been identified as Nisar Dar.

The encounter started at village Sirhama during the night as the Army was conducting a Cordon and Search Operation on the specific input that militants were hiding there. Soon the Army established contact with militants and an exchange of fire began in which Dar was killed.

In a tweet, J&K Police also confirmed the killing of Dar and said that the search was still ongoing at the site.

However, while the encounter was going on, another broke out at the neighboring district of Kulgam. Encounter is still ongoing there.
