Karnataka Congress state president G. Parameshwara will take oath as Deputy Chief Minister after JD(S) legislative party leader H.D. Kumarswamy is sworn-in as the Chief Minister on Wednesday in front of the Vidhana Soudha.
After the coalition meeting between congress and JD(S), Congress party’s general secretary said, “Congress president Rahul Gandhi has approved the name of Parameshwara as the deputy chief minister in the coalition government.”
“Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will be from the Congress and Deputy Speaker will be from the JD(S),” Venugopal added.
“A joint coordination committee with members from both the parties will be set up in the next couple of days,” Venugopal said.
“Out of 34 ministries, 22 cabinet ministers will be from the Congress party and 12 from the JD(S), including CM.” Portfolio allocation to be decided after floor test, Venugopal told reporters.
Meanwhile, HD Kumaraswamy rubbished the reports of differences in the coalition.
“Everything is alright, no differences,” he said after the meeting.
