Karimnagar District as ‘Karipuram’ if BJP comes to power in Telangana, says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a promise that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in Telangana, the party will change the name of Karimnagar District to ‘Karipuram’. UP CM also reiterated his earlier claim that the BJP will rename Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar.

While addressing a rally in the poll-bound state CM Adityanath said, “If BJP comes to power in Telangana then BJP will work for renaming Karimnagar to ‘Karipuram’ and respect your sentiments.”

The CM during a rally in Bodhan town of Nizamabad District also said, “Hyderabad will become Bhagyanagar as we did it in Uttar Pradesh where we changed Faizabad to Ayodhya and Allahabad to Prayagraj.”

“If Hyderabad has to be transformed into ‘Bhagyanagar’ then I call upon you to support BJP to form the government (in Telangana)”, he added.

However, the opposition had slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for its decision to change the names of several cities, including Mughalsarai and Faizabad.
