Two terrorists were killed on Friday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district
According to an official, security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in the village of Awantipora in Pulwama district after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
As the forces were conducting searches in the area, the terrorists fired upon them and the forces retaliated in which two terrorists were killed.
The slain terrorists have been identified as Irfan Degu and Tasaduk Amin. They both were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), police said.
Police have also recovered arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.
Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “02 killed #terrorists identified as Irfan Degu & Tasaduk Amin. Affiliated with proscribed terror outfit #LeT. Were wanted by law for #complicity in #terrorcrimes. #Arms & ammunition recovered. Case registered.”
