Two terrorists were killed on Wednesday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The security forces started a cordon and search operation in Gopalpora village of Kulgam district after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
As the cordon around the hiding terrorists was tightened, they fired at the security forces triggering an encounter in which two terrorists were killed, said police official.
Police have also recovered arms and ammunition from the site of encounter.
Kashmir Zone police tweeted, “02 #terrorists killed. #Arms & #ammunition recovered. #Identities & affiliations being #ascertained.”
Meanwhile, mobile Internet has been suspended in Kulgam district as a precautionary measure.
