Two terrorists killed on Saturday night in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “#Kulgam encounter update: 02 #terrorists killed. #Arms & ammunition recovered. No #collateraldamage reported during the encounter. Identities & affiliations are being ascertained.”
Army, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Katpora area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday evening after receiving specific inputs about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.
As the cordon was tightened, the terrorists fired upon them. The forces retaliated, resulting an encounter in which the two terrorists were killed, police said.
Police had recovered arms and ammunition from the encounter site, adding that no collateral damage was reported.
