Two terrorists were killed on Tuesday in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, police said.
After receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the forests area, the security forces launched cordon and search operation.
As the security forces tightened their cordon, the terrorists fired upon them triggering the encounter, in which two terrorists were killed.
Kashmir Zone Police earlier tweeted, “Exchange of fire took place between terrorists and security forces at kachwan forest. Details will follow.”
Authorities have suspended mobile Internet service in the area as a precautionary measure.
