Three terrorists were killed on Thursday morning in an encounter with security forces in Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The encounter broke out in Kellar area in the south Kashmir district.
The security forces have also recovered weapons from the encounter site.
According to reports, the search operation was jointly launched by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police in the early hours today.
Jammu and Kashmir police earlier tweeted, “#Shopian #encounter update: Operation is in the #advance #stage. Searches are going on at the #site of #encounter. Details will follow.”
Meanwhile, another exchange of fire is underway in Yaroo area of Handwara, Kashmir. The area has been cordoned off.
