Jammu and Kashmir: PDP leader’s PSO killed in firing by terrorists in Srinagar

A personal security officer (PSO) was killed on Monday in firing by terrorists at the residence of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Haji Parvaiz Ahmed in Natipora area of Srinagar, officials said.

PSO Manzoor Ahmad sustained injuries in the attack. He was rushed to a hospital for further treatment and later succumbed to his injuries.

Jammu and Kashmir police in a tweet said, “The PSO injured in terrorist attack has succumbed to his injuries at Bone and Joints Hospital, Srinagar just now.J&K Police led by DGP J&K Sh Dilbag Singh salutes the martyr for sacrificing his life for the nation.”

The area has been cordoned off and the hunt has been launched to nab the terrorists.

Kashmir Zone Police earlier tweeted, “#Terrorists fired indiscriminately upon SgCt Manzoor Ahmad, PSO of PDP leader at #Natipora #Srinagar due to which he got injured. He has been shifted to hospital. Area has been cordoned off. Further details shall follow.”
