Three terrorists were killed on Wednesday in an encounter with security forces in the Lawaypora area of Srinagar.
Security forces launched a cordon and search operation on Tuesday evening in the Lawaypora area after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
The search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired at the forces, who retaliated.
Chinar Corps, Indian Army tweeted on Tuesday, “Op Lawaypora, Srinagar A Jt Search Op was launched today evening based on own sources. Cordon was laid and contact established. Firefight ensued. Jt op in progress.”
