One terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Awantipora, officials said on Wednesday morning.
The gunfight which started at Sharshali Khrew area late last night is still underway.
Kashmir Zone Police earlier in a tweet said, “#Encounter has started at #Sharshali Khrew area of #Awantipora. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow.”
On Sunday five security personnel, including a Colonel and a Major were martyred in an encounter in north Kashmir’s Handwara area.
