An encounter broke out on Saturday between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said.
Jammu and Kashmir police tweeted, “Exchange of fire between security forces & #terrorists at Aripal in #Tral. Area under cordon. Details shall follow.”
According to the police, the security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Aripal village of the south Kashmir district area after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists there.
“As the cordon was tightened, the hiding terrorist fired at the security forces, triggering an encounter which is still going on,” a police official said.
