India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 3,08,993, Death toll at 8884

India has so far registered 3,08,993 COVID-19 cases with 8,884 fatalities. There are 1,45,779 active cases while 1,54,329 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,01141 with 3,717 fatalities, according to Health Ministry.

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 40,698 Covid-19 cases and 367 deaths, followed by Delhi with 36,824 cases and 1,214 deaths, Gujarat – 22,527 cases and 1,415 fatalities.

A total of 55,07,182 samples have been tested as on June 13, of which 1,43,737 samples have been tested in last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.
