India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 1,90,535, Death toll at 5,394

India’s COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,90,535 with 5,394 fatalities. There are 93,322 active cases while 91,818 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Monday.

Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in the country. The total number of COVID-19 cases has jumped to 67,655 with 2,286 fatalities, according to Health Ministry. 

Tamil Nadu continues to be the second-worst hit state with 22,333 Covid-19 cases and 173 deaths, followed by Delhi with 19,844 cases and 473 deaths, Gujarat – 16,779 cases and 1,038 fatalities.

A total 38,37,207 samples have been tested as on June 1, of which 1,00,180 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

Meanwhile, the total number of global coronavirus cases has surpassed 6.1 million mark, while the deaths have surged to more than 370,000.
