India’s COVID-19 cases rise to 1,31,868, Death toll at 3,867

COVID-19 cases in India has risen to 1,31,868, with 3,867 fatalities. There are 73,560 active cases while 54,440 have been cured/discharged, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

Maharashtra has highest COVID-19 cases – 47,190, followed by Tamil Nadu – 15,512, Gujarat – 13,664 and Delhi – 12,910.

The novel coronavirus cases surpassed 5.3 million mark globally, with over 3.4 lakh fatalities.

The United States is the hardest hit by the global pandemic with more than 1.6 million cases and nearly 98,000 deaths.

The virus which was first originated in China’s Wuhan has spread to at least 200 countries.
