Indian Air Force MiG 27 fighter jet crashes near Jodhpur, Pilot safe

An Indian Air Force MiG 27 fighter jet crashed on Tuesday in a field near Jodhpur’s Banad area.

According to the reports, the jet burst into flames and was completely destroyed in the crash. The pilot was able to safely eject from the jet.

“The MiG 27 crashed during a routine mission and a Court of Inquiry will be set up to investigate the cause of the crash.” the Indian Air Force said.

The pilot was rushed to the hospital in an air ambulance. 

Deputy Commissioner, Jodhpur, said no loss of life has been reported in the crash. 

Police officials have reached the spot and cordoned off the area. 

Many locals were gathered around the crash site.

The aircraft had taken off from the Indian Air Force’s Jodhpur Rajasthan airbase.
