With 18,222 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 228 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally stands at 1,04,31,639 while the death toll rose to 1,50,798, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 1,00,56,651 have been cured/discharged. There are 2,24,190 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 96.41%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 18.02 crore samples have been tested up to January 8 of which 9,16,951 samples were tested yesterday.
