With 18,177 fresh cases of the coronavirus and 217 deaths in the past 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 tally stands at 1,03,23,965 while the death toll rose to 1,49,435, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 99,27,310 have been cured/discharged. There are 2,47,220 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients stands at 96.16%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said over 17.48 crore samples have been tested up to January 2 of which 9,58,125 samples were tested yesterday.
