India has reported 68,898 fresh cases of coronavirus and 983 deaths in the last 24 hours. The COVID-19 tally in the country now stands at 29,05,824, while the death toll rose to 54,849, according to Health Ministry data.
Of the total cases, 21,58,947 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 6,92,028 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients stands at 73.91%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Friday said a total of 3,34,67,237 samples have been tested up to August 20 of which 8,05,985 samples were tested yesterday.
