India’s coronavirus cases on Wednesday rose to 27,67,274 as 64,531 people have tested Covid-19 positive in a day, according to Health Ministry data.
The death toll climbed to 52,889 with 1,092 people succumbing to the disease.
Of the total cases, 20,37,871 have been cured/discharged/migrated. There are 6,76,514 active cases of COVID-19 in India.
The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients stands at 73.18%.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Wednesday said a total of 3,17,42,782 samples have been tested up to August 18 of which 8,01,518 samples were tested yesterday.
