Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday told Brazil and Israel that India is committed to contribute to humanity’s fight against novel coronavirus.
PM Modi made the remarks after Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked India for clearing the export of anti-malarial drug.
“Thank you President @jairbolsonaro. The India-Brazil partnership is stronger than ever in these challenging times. India is committed to contribute to humanity’s fight against this pandemic,” Modi was responding to a tweet by President Bolsonaro who thanked him for sending a shipment of inputs to Brazil needed for the production of hydroxychloroquine.
In reply to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Modi said, “We have to jointly fight this pandemic. India is ready to do whatever is possible to help our friends. Praying for the well-being and good health of the people of Israel,” he said.
Israel PM had earlier in a tweet said, “Thank you, my dear friend @narendramodi, Prime Minister of India, for sending Chloroquine to Israel. All the citizens of Israel thank you!”
