Imran Khan, leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), is considering inviting the leaders of the SAARC countries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his oath ceremony which will be held on 11th August, three days before Pakistan’s independence day that falls on August 14.
According to reports, Khan said, Modi’s telephone call to congratulate him on his victory in the 2018 polls is a welcoming sign to start a new chapter between the two countries.
“If they take one step towards us, we will take two, but at least need a start”, he said.
Fawad Chaudhry, a spokesperson for Khan’s party, also did not rule out inviting Modi to the swearing-in ceremony.
