New Zealand beat India by 18 runs in the Semifinal of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
New Zealand played first on Tuesday in the rain hit match and scored 239 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs which was completed on Wednesday and set the target of 240. Chasing the target India lost three early wickets and manage to score 221 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 49.3 overs. A brilliant hundred run partnership from M.S Dhoni and R. Jadeja brought hope for the Indian Fans but successive wickets by New Zealand in the end shattered that hope.
For New Zealand R Taylor scored 74 Runs from 90 balls, whereas K Williamson scored 67 runs from 95 balls.
For India, Jadeja scored 77 runs from 59 balls.
With this win New Zealand has entered the finals of the ICC World Cup 2019, where they will play the winner of the semifinal match which will be played on 11th July between Australia and England.
