An encounter was reported on Wednesday morning between security forces and militants on the Jammu-Srinagar highway in Udhampur district, police said.
The incident took place at Jajhar Kotli, when three militants travelling in truck from Jammu to Srinagar opened fire at the paramilitary troopers who were positioned at checkpost for a routine checking.
According to the Jammu SSP, militants were intercepted and they fired on the security forces.
As per the reports, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper and a forest guard were injured in a firing.
Militants abandoned the vehicle after the firing and fled from the spot.
The police officials have seized the truck.
An alert has been announced on the national highway after the incident.
