Haryana puts corruption complaints a tap away

‘Satark–Haryana’ app lets citizens report graft, upload evidence and contact district vigilance officers

Haryana today launched the ‘Satark–Haryana’ mobile app, aimed at making it easier and safer for citizens to report corruption directly to the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB).

The app, launched by Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini at the Haryana Secretariat, allows users to lodge corruption complaints, share information and upload digital evidence such as photographs, videos and audio recordings. It also provides direct access to the SV&ACB helpline, eliminating the need for citizens to remember its telephone number.

A distinctive feature of the app is that citizens can share corruption-related information even when they do not want immediate action against a particular individual. Such information will be kept confidential and can be used to build a digital database for analysis and further action as per rules.

The app covers all 23 districts of Haryana. Users can select a district to access the name and mobile number of the local SV&ACB officer in charge. Google Maps will also provide the location of the concerned office and directions to reach it.

Citizens can contact the officer by phone or visit the office personally to submit their complaint or information.

The app also provides a mechanism to report complaints against SV&ACB officers or employees. Users can access details of the concerned senior police officer, including the officer’s name and mobile number, office location and directions.

FIR copies made available under the applicable rules can also be downloaded through the app.

The application is currently available on the Google Play Store under the name ‘Satark Haryana’. It is expected to be made available on Apple’s App Store shortly, based on its usage and performance.

SV&ACB chief Dr Arshinder Singh Chawla urged citizens to use the platform responsibly and submit only genuine, factual information. He warned against uploading misleading material or content intended to defame officials without evidence.

Chawla also cautioned that action could be taken against those who deliberately submit false or misleading material as genuine evidence, including artificially generated or fake content created using artificial intelligence. He said the app was intended to strengthen the flow of information between citizens and the anti-corruption bureau and encourage greater public participation in Haryana’s fight against corruption.
