Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will on Friday meet senior party leaders to discuss a way forward as BJP need support to form a new government.
After the poll results came out yesterday, the BJP won 40 seats in the 90-member Assembly in Haryana and fell six short of the halfway mark needed to form the next government.
The Congress won 31 seats, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) 10 and others registered 9.
Ahead of Assembly elections, the BJP had predicted that it will cross 75 seats this time.
However, out of 10 only two of the ministers make it through.
On Thursday Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda had appealed to non-BJP outfits to join hands.
“All non- BJP parties to come together to honor this anti- BJP mandate and form an alternative government,” Hooda had said.
