Companies signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) involving investments of more than Rs 66,000 crore in Haryana on the second day of the state government’s Happening Haryana 2.0 international outreach campaign in Mumbai.
The MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, with officials and company representatives participating in the investment discussions.
Addressing Consuls General, industry leaders, investors and representatives of Mumbai’s financial and corporate sector, Saini said Haryana offers investors more than land, incentives and approvals, describing the state’s approach as a strategic partnership based on scale, speed, policy certainty and shared prosperity. “The Haryana Government believes in project movement, not file movement,” he said.
He highlighted Haryana’s growing role in India’s economy, noting that while the state accounts for about 1.3 per cent of the country’s geographical area, it contributes around 3.6 per cent to national GDP. The state has emerged as a major hub for automobiles, agro-industry, engineering, electronics, logistics, IT services and corporate activities.
Gurugram has developed into a global services and technology hub, Faridabad into an engineering and manufacturing centre, and Manesar into a major automobile and auto-component cluster. Other districts, including Panipat, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal and Sonipat, are also contributing through their industrial and agriculture-based strengths.
Saini said MoUs worth Rs 1.10 lakh crore were signed at a recent Industry Policy Launch event in Gurugram, with land already provided to 108 of the 123 companies that signed agreements. “For Haryana, MoUs are not just a signing ceremony but a symbol of commitment,” he said.
The government plans to develop new growth nodes by linking district-specific industrial clusters with land, skills and connectivity. It will promote food processing, pharmaceuticals, scientific instruments and logistics in North Haryana; engineering, textiles, automobiles and warehousing in Central Haryana; and IT, electronics, e-mobility, GCCs and advanced manufacturing in South Haryana. Western Haryana will focus on agro-industry, renewable energy, textiles and export-oriented units.
The Chief Minister said Haryana’s development strategy would combine industrial growth with agriculture, sustainability and inclusive development. Farmers would be connected to processing, value addition and global markets, with agritech, drones, data, storage, packaging and branding used to improve incomes and competitiveness.
He also outlined the Haryana Vision Document-2047, which aims to take the state’s economy beyond $1 trillion, raise per capita income, strengthen youth employability and women’s economic participation, and ensure all districts become active partners in development.
Industries and Commerce Commissioner and Secretary Dr Amit Kumar Aggarwal said Haryana was offering investors a reliable and conducive business environment. He pointed to the state’s strong manufacturing base, NCR connectivity, skilled workforce and move towards a trust-based, online system for industrial services and faster subsidy processing.
