Haryana and Rajasthan sign MoU on the Yamuna Water Project

The MoU was signed under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini expressed his gratitude to the Union Home Minister and Union Jal Shakti Minister.

An agreement was signed between Haryana and Rajasthan on the Yamuna Water Project today under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Union Water Power Minister CR Patil , Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma were present.

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that meetings regarding the Yamuna Water Project have been held regularly between Haryana and Rajasthan under the chairmanship of Union Water Power Minister CR Patil. Under the MoU signed today , Rajasthan will transport the surplus rainwater generated in Haryana between July and October through pipelines and use it for drinking water . The MoU was signed today to advance this project. Under this agreement, a pipeline will be laid from Hathnikund Barrage to Rajasthan, and the surplus water will be utilized.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that this is a matter of great happiness because it is our shared responsibility to provide water to the thirsty. He assured that Haryana will fully cooperate in this. No problem will be allowed to come in the way of this project. Before this MoU, various aspects related to this project were discussed in detail under the chairmanship of Union Water Power Minister CR Patil. Only after this will the MoU be signed. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Water Power Minister CR Patil, and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma for this MoU.

Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi and other dignitaries were present in the meeting.
