The wife of Gurugram Additional District Judge Krishan Kant, who was shot by the official gunman of the judge, succumbed to her injuries in a hospital, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon near Arcadia Market in Gurugram, where the wife and son of additional sessions judge Krishan Kant Sharma had gone shopping.
After shooting judge’s wife and son gunman called judge said, “I have shot your wife and son.”
The woman was identified as Ritu and her son Dhruv.
According to the sources, Ritu died of excessive bleeding due to the bullet wound.
Dhruv who too was shot at, is being treated at Medanta Hospital and stated to be critical.
Mahipal Singh, the gunman hailed from Mahindargarh had been posted with judge, Krishan Kant for nearly two years. He fled the scene after shooting Judge’s wife and son but was later arrested by the police.
Sources say, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by the DCP East of Gurugram has been set up to probe the killing.
