A gunbattle erupted between security forces and militants in the Nagmarg forest area of North Kashmir on Tuesday morning.
According to officials, the clash began during a search operation launched by joint security teams in the region. As the teams approached a suspected hideout, militants opened fire, prompting a retaliatory response from the forces, leading to an ongoing encounter.
This marks the fifth such encounter in North Kashmir in recent days, following similar incidents in Bandipora, Kupwara, and Sopore. The situation remains tense, with intermittent firing continuing at the time of the report.
