Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday called for a political change in the state during a massive public rally organized in Dhuri, Punjab, stating that the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, a comedian turned politician, knows nothing except cracking jokes.
He quipped that while cinema halls can run on jokes, a government cannot. This is why the people of Punjab are now exhausted by the politics of false promises and hollow assurances, and are ready to choose a new path of development, good governance, and transparent administration. The Chief Minister remarked that the enthusiasm of the people of Dhuri is a clear indication that a strong wave of change is sweeping across the state.
The Chief Minister said that Aam Aadmi Party leaders call themselves revolutionaries, but in reality, they are illusionists who mislead the public regarding others’ work and achievements just to hide their own shortcomings. He added that while Dhuri is the Chief Minister’s own constituency, he has distanced himself not just from Punjab, but from Dhuri as well.
Punjab was once far ahead of other states in terms of development, but local political parties have dragged it down to the category of backward states for their own vested interests. Today, the war against drugs in Punjab is being fought only through newspaper advertisements, with zero work being done on the ground, alleged Haryana CM.
Nayab Singh Saini stated that the farmers of Punjab are the nation’s providers (Anndata). These farmers trusted the ‘AAP’ party in 2022 and voted for them, but in Punjab, farmers neither receive the benefit of MSP on all crops nor do they get proper compensation for crop damage. This is the biggest betrayal committed against the farmers, and they will give a fitting reply to the Aam Aadmi Party in the upcoming elections.
In contrast, Haryana is the first state in the country where the government purchases all crops of its farmers at MSP. Similarly, the Haryana government is far ahead in compensating farmers for losses caused by natural disasters. When crops were damaged by rain and floods last year, financial assistance worth Rs. 16,500 crorewas provided to the farmers in Haryana. Farmers bringing their produce to the markets get their J-Form online instantly, and the crop payment is transferred to their bank accounts within 72 hours.
The Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab had rid themselves of the Congress with great difficulty because the Aam Aadmi Party made tall promises and showed them green pastures. The innocent people of Punjab fell for their words, and the state is suffering the consequences to this day. On the contrary, the Bharatiya Janata Party does not just believe in making promises but in implementing them on the ground.
Highlighting the development works carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he mentioned that the Central Government has implemented several historic schemes for the welfare of the poor, farmers, youth, women, and the underprivileged, benefiting crores of people. Modi Ji wants India to become developed. If the people of Punjab resolve and support the BJP, Punjab can also become a developed state.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that in Haryana, employment has been provided to the youth based purely on merit, without any bribery or favoritism (bina parchi, bina kharchi). Over the last eleven and a half years, lakhs of youth in Haryana have secured government jobs based on qualification, which has boosted public trust in the system. He also highlighted various schemes launched for the empowerment of women and welfare initiatives designed to provide relief to poor families.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab needs a government that does not just make announcements but also possesses the capability to implement them effectively. Strong leadership and accountable governance are required to fulfill the aspirations of the state’s farmers, youth, traders, and ordinary citizens. Only the BJP can bring good governance to Punjab and take it to new heights in development, investment, employment, and infrastructure. In Haryana, the BJP had included 217 resolutions in its election manifesto, out of which 63 were fulfilled in the very first year, and work is progressing rapidly on the remaining 153.
The Chief Minister noted that progressive cities like Dhuri in Punjab used to be the hubs of economic activities, but the indifferent policies of the current government have pushed these cities behind in the race for development. Most of the industries in Punjab are on the verge of closure. In contrast, the work done by the double-engine government in Haryana over the last eleven and a half years has brought a positive transformation in the lives of the common man. By implementing a transparent governance system, the government has delivered the benefits of its schemes to every single person without any discrimination.
Shri Nayab Singh Saini said that Haryana is touching new heights of development in every sector today. Drawing a comparison, he stated that while elderly individuals from families with an annual income up to Rs. 80,000in Punjab receive a monthly old-age pension of only Rs. 1,500, Haryana provides a monthly pension of Rs. 3,200to the elderly from families earning up to Rs. 300,000. Similarly, over the past eleven and a half years, 1.60 lakh houses have been given to needy families in Haryana, and 10,500 new houses are ready to be handed over to the beneficiaries soon.
The Chief Minister mentioned that under the ‘Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’ in Haryana, daughters and sisters are being provided with financial assistance of Rs. 2,100 per month. To help poor women run their kitchens, gas cylinders are being provided for just Rs. 500 every month. Furthermore, out of Haryana’s population of 3 crores, 1.5 crore people are receiving free medical treatment benefits up to Rs. 5 lakh annually under the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu schemes, whereas in Punjab’s Mohalla Clinics, people find neither medicines nor doctors.
Appealing to the public to give the BJP an opportunity in the upcoming assembly elections, he said that the next election is not just about choosing a government, but about the future of Punjab, employment for the youth, prosperity for the farmers, and the overall development of the state. He emphasized that every single vote from the public will play a crucial role in forming a strong and development-oriented double-engine government in Punjab. He also led the attendees in taking a pledge to steer Punjab in a new political direction centered on good governance, development, and public welfare.
