Government hid names of bank defaulters in Parliament: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday alleged that the government had hidden the names of top 50 bank defaulters in Parliament.

Rahul said that he had earlier asked the Finance Minister in parliament for the list but was denied by the government.

Rahul in a tweet said, “I asked a simple question in parliament that who are the top 50 biggest bank thieves in the country. The finance minister refused to answer, and now RBI has put names of Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and other BJP friends in the list. That is why the truth was hidden in Parliament.”

The Congress was citing an RTI response from RBI while making the allegations against the BJP.

The Congress alleged that PM Modi’s government had “waived” Rs 68,607 crore of the top bank loan defaulters in the country.
