Four tourists from Haryana were killed and two others injured on Tuesday after their car fell into a 200-metre-deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Theog tehsil, a police official said.
The ill-fated car was on its way to Narkanda, a popular tourist spot, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car rolled nearly 200 metres down a deep gorge near Devi Morh on National Highway 5, official added.
The deceased have been identified as Jagpreet, Ajay, Deepak and Lokesh, while the remaining two Rahul and Rohtas suffered serious injuries and are undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Theog, the official said
They were employees of private company in Haryana.
According to the police sources, rash driving was the reason behind the accident and a case has been registered under Sections 279, 337 and 304A of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
