Four terrorists were killed on Monday morning in an encounter with the security forces in Pinjora area of Shopian district of Jammu-Kashmir, police said.
Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet said, “04 unidentified #terrorists killed. Operation going on. Further details shall follow.”
Security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The search operation turned into an encounter after terrorists fired upon security forces, who retaliated.
“Encounter has started at #Pinjora area of #Shopain. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” Police had earlier tweeted.
