Four Naxals, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with security forces in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday.
The encounter took place in the forest of Kokrajhar’s Gumiyabeda village, when a team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) was out on an anti-Maoist operation, said an official.
The bodies of four Naxals and ammunitions including one INSAS rifle and two 12 bore pistols, as well as other incriminating materials, were found at the spot.
The patrolling team was cordoning off the forests of Gumiyabeda village, after getting a tip-off about the presence of Naxalites in Kokrajhar when the encounter occurred.
The ultras fled from the area and entered the dense forest after a brief exchange of fire.
