Chief Ministers’ of four states on Saturday visited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to express solidarity and support for him. West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan & Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy visited Kejriwal’s residence in Delhi to show their support for him. They were welcomed by Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal upon reaching their residence.
The four CM’s had sought an appointment with Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal but later learnt that Baijal was not in his office.
After meeting AAP supremo Kejriwal’s family, the four CM’s held a press conference. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu said, “Our demand is very clear, Centre must allow Arvind Kejriwal’s Govt to function smoothly. Centre and the state must work together. The problem has to be sorted.”
Newly elected CM of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy expressing his support, said “We came here to support Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal & demand the Prime Minister to intervene in this issue. He should take steps to resolve this issue. Central Govt should take action.”
While expressing solidarity, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, said “People are with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. We express our solidarity at this time.”
West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee addressing the reporters, said, “We will tell the Prime Minister to intervene in this matter. We have not been allowed to go to LG’s House. We are not street beggars. We tried our best, this is not democracy. We could not meet Arvind Kejriwal or LG.”
“If Delhi is in such a bad condition, what will happen to the country?
We wrote a letter to the LG & waited for 4 hours & were denied. We want this issue to be resolved soon,” Mamata added.
Kejriwal, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Cabinet ministers Satyendar Jain and Gopal Rai are sitting at the office of LG Anil Baijal since Monday, demanding his direction to the IAS officers to end their “strike” and approve doorstep ration delivery scheme.
