Ferozepur MP Sher Singh Ghubaya on Tuesday joined the Congress in the presence of party president Rahul Gandhi, a day after he resigned from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD).
AICC in charge for Punjab Asha Kumari and Punjab Congress president Sunil Jakhar were also present on the occasion.
“Congress President @RahulGandhi welcomes Ferozepur MP Shri Sher Singh Ghubaya to the Congress party. We wish him all the best,” Congress party tweeted.
Two-time MP from Ferozpur, Punjab, Ghubaya is considered a strong contender for the Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat.
