Former president Pranab Mukherjee on Monday said that he had tested positive for Covid-19.
He requested people who came in contact with him in the last one week to get tested for coronavirus.
“On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for Covid-19 today,” Mukherjee tweeted.
“I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for Covid-19,” he added.
Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala along with numerous other party leaders wished Mukherjee a speedy recovery.
Earlier, Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa have been tested COVID-19 positive.
